Mrs. Jean Beasley Dixon, 77, of Durham, slipped away into eternal life on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at her home after an extended illness. Jean was born on September 20, 1942 in Durham. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Lowell Beasley and Mavis Holloway Beasley. She was a life-long resident of the Bethesda community and member of the Bethesda Ruritan Club for many years.  She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and enjoyed making memories with the PrimeTimers before her health started to decline.  After a long career as a Quality Assurance Tester, she retired from Honeywell Corporation where she was well respected for her knowledge and experience in their Durham plant.  She loved spending time with her grandkids and sharing stories about “putting in tobacco and raising animals” as a child and growing up on the family farm.  In her earlier years, she enjoyed flower gardening, putting up vegetables and being a tremendous neighbor in the community by helping others.  She was known as “Granny” to all and always had a huge smile when she greeted you and had never met a stranger. She will be remembered as a joyful, kind, loving and beautiful lady that made the world a little sweeter. Heaven gained a beautiful soul.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude “Gerald” Dixon in March of 2004, whom she enjoyed 38 years of marriage. They had two daughters, Brenda Littleton and husband Mark of Austin, TX, Linda Lassiter-Bramigk and husband Scott of Durham. Granny loved her grandkids, Chesney “Cole” Lassiter, Braden Bramigk (Rebecca), Travis Bramigk, and Samantha Bramigk. Jean has one brother, Mike Beasley and Tonya of Cedar Point, NC and their two children Mike Beasley, Jr. and Nina Beasley Hood (Travis) and their two children, Coral and Wade.
