Jayne (South) Hampton McRae, 81, ended her wonderful journey, in this world, on Monday, January 16, 2017.

She was born on May 28, 1935, to Herschel and Maxine (Neff) South, in Hazel Green, Kentucky.

Her time was cut short by cancer, however, she forever left her mark on so many lives.

She graduated from New Market High School, in Indiana, in 1953 and then attended Berea College, in Kentucky.

Jayne held several jobs, through the years, but was primarily a homemaker. She was a loving mother; she served as a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout troop leader. Jayne loved to cook and excelled in “good old-fashioned” Southern cuisine. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an innate ability to tell a good story. These well-known traits were definitely inherited from her “daddy”. No one will be able to forget her “silly suppers” and great parties. She enjoyed traveling abroad, to wonderful places, such as: Egypt, China, South America, and many destinations in Europe. However, none of these places excited her more than her annual, week-long, vacations in the Florida Keys. Jayne was a member of the Salvation Army church in Nashville, IN.

Jayne is survived by her children, Scott (Linda) Hampton of Nasvhille, IN., Eric Hampton of Franklin, and Dawn (Ed) Bultman of Whiteland, two brothers, David South Litiz, PA. and Dan South of Columbus, OH., four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Patricia Zimmerman.
