Jay Martin Hartman, age 78, of Nokesville, VA passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Novant Health Prince William Medical Center with his daughter and grandsons at his side. Martin was born on October 9, 1939 in Washington DC the son of the late Charles and Rhoda (Hartzell) Hartman. He retired a Lieutenant after 35 years of service with The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Eleanor Hartman. Survivors include his daughter, Tamara Florence and husband Michael Umsted of Nokesville; three grandchildren, Aubrey Florence IV, Jay Florence, Erin Florence; one great grandchild, Aubrey Florence V; two sisters, RoseAnn Dietrich of Wilmington, NC and Nancy Vanover of Montross, VA.; one sister in law, Martha Hartman of OceanView, DE.; as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
