Jay Lawrence Sahd, age 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, and native New Mexican, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016. He is survived by his children, David Michael Sahd, Deborah Ann Fleming and her husband Aaron Fleming, Gerald Lawrence Sahd and his wife Arlene Sahd, and Cheryl Jean Stoltzfus and her husband Eric Stoltzfus; grandchildren, Matthew Sahd, Christopher Fleming, Jaclyn Sahd, Steven Sahd, Kirsten Sahd, Kahlil Stoltzfus, and Luke Stoltzfus; brothers Gabriel Sahd and Floyd Sahd; and friends, Susie and Maggie Plummer. Mr. Sahd was preceded in death by his wife, Twinsa Lou Sahd (Owen); mother, Clara Sahd (Merhege); father, Fitty Sahd; and brothers, Elias (Leo) and Joseph Sahd.
Jay Lawrence Sahd lived in many parts of the U.S. during his career with the National Park Service. After leaving Washington, D.C. and government service, he settled in Albuquerque where he owned businesses, performed community service and enjoyed his children, grandchildren, friends and beloved parish.
Rosary will be recited Friday, December 16, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE, Albuquerque.
