Jay L. Huston, 53, of Jacksonville, died Friday, May 18, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born Sept. 21, 1964, in Beardstown, the son of Donald E. and Sue Sherrill Huston. He married Amy Pearson and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Trevor L. Huston and Cole L. Huston, both at home; his mother, Sue Huston, and his father, Don Huston, both of Jacksonville; two brothers, Jeff Huston of Springfield and Jon Huston of Jacksonville; one sister, Joy Huston of Springfield; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mr. Huston was a 1982 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He worked at Capitol Records for many years before opening the Jay Huston Insurance Agency in 2005. He was an avid Cardinals fan and had a special love for baseball. Jay was most proud to coach both of his son’s baseball teams throughout the years. He enjoyed golf and being a member of the Longneck League, and especially enjoyed fishing with his boys.
