Jay Eric Hutton, 58, of Bluffs, fell asleep in death at his home on Friday, March 20, 2015. He was born Oct. 17, 1956, in Jacksonville, the son of Kenneth and Karrie Albers Hutton. Early in his life, he was married and later divorced.
He is survived by his mother of Bluffs; his brother, Kevin A. Hutton (wife, Tracey) of Bluffs; a niece, Andie Hutton Wells (husband, Landon) of Danville; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father in 1987.
Mr. Hutton was a 1974 graduate of Bluffs High School. He was a member of Laborers Local #477 in Springfield, retiring in 2010 after 33 years of service. He had worked road construction for many of those years, and more recently was involved with power plant construction. He also farmed for a period of time. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Jay especially enjoyed growing up with his brother and parents on the farm. Special thanks go to Steve, Bob, Peggy, and Pam for their help.
