Jay Bernard Twomey was born in Sioux City Iowa on July 12th, 1960 to Lt. Colonel Bernard and Mavis (Munch) Twomey and unexpectedly passed away on March 4th, 2018. When Jay was 3 ½ the family moved to Colorado Springs, a city he loved and made his home. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bernard and Mavis Twomey, as well as a nephew, Zane Mason. He is survived by his daughter Hannah, her mother Tamara Twomey, his love, Nicole Theriault, sisters Barbara Mason and Jill Tripp, as well as many nieces, nephews, his Aunt Helen Taylor, and good friends. He attended University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business and Geology from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. After graduation he was introduced to the fast paced world of the Stock Broker. He loved the thrill of buying and selling stocks and his deep understanding of the economics behind the market helped him to become one of the best in his field. After mastering that field, Jay decided to take on a new challenge and became a successful mortgage broker, opening his own shop in 1999. Jay’s daughter Hannah was born in July of 1999 and was the light of his life. He was never happier than when he was with her playing, working on homework, or just spending time together. He often said if there was one thing he did right, it was her! Jay had a thirst and a love for knowledge and was an avid reader enjoying everything from fiction to biography. He loved sports and played hockey for many years. He loved hiking, skiing, music, and weight lifting. He will be remembered for his boundless energy, quick and sometimes sideways wit, his love for laughter, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. His generous spirit and quirky outlook on life brought joy to so many. He will forever be in our hearts and will be missed beyond words.
