Javier E. Cardenas passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his father Oscar Cardenas, mother Hortencia Cardenas, father-in-law Francisco Puente, three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Rosie Cardenas; daughters: Cristela Cardenas, Clarissa Argomaniz, Claudia Cardenas, Cordelia Cardenas; sisters: Nelda Negrete, Sonia De La Garza; grandchildren: Ariana Argomaniz, Jacob Ahuero (Kristen Ahuero), Julia Rose Cirlos, Jared Ahuero, Johonna Rae Cirlos; great-grandchild: Mariana Ahuero, 

Javier was born in Laredo, Texas on September 12, 1947. He attended J. W.  Nixon High School. Javier married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Puente in 1969. He was part of the Army National Guard then joined the ranks of Sears and Roebucks Co. He retired from the retail business after 35 years and started A Few Old Things Antiques. After 16 years, the business continues to thrive. The antiques sales business was Javier’s dream, everyday interactions with his customers was his passion. He loved family. His daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Javier is loved by many and will be sincerely missed.
