Jasper Newell Hepfer, 83, of Anderson, departed this earth on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 4:15 p.m. surrounded by all of his family. Jasper was born on June 6, 1929 to Edward and Addi Rector Hepfer in Pendleton, Indiana.
Jasper served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. He retired from Atlantic Richfield formerly Anaconda Wire and Cable of Anderson in 1986. On July 26, 1963, he married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Wood.
Jasper is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly W. Hepfer; sons, Tony Sandra Hepfer, Bruce Pam Hepfer both of Anderson, and Steve Pat Hepfer of Sarasota, Florida; daughter, Donna Jim Gunn of Noblesville; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Lillian Rector; two brothers, Vincent and Keith Hepfer; his sister, Francis Ockoman; and two sons, Rodney and Mark Hepfer.
Jasper was a man like no other, when he married our mother, she had five children of her own and he had one son. In 1970, he adopted all five of us and at that time, his oldest son was in the service and still changed his name.
We were so blessed to have this wonderful man as our father. A very special thank you to all of his driving and coffee buddies for being such wonderful friends.
