Jason Robert Aikens Sr. was born in Columbus, Ohio, February 23, 1980, to Jesse Robert and Janet Bertha Aikens. He departed this life June 1, 2023, at 2:15 am at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was surrounded by love from friends and family.

Jason was often affectionately known as Jay. A very charismatic young man and ambitious. He was a natural salesman and born with the gift of gab. Some say he could sell tickets to a dog.

Jay had an infectious laugh and just a way about him that made you want to stick around to see what he would get into next. His last act of kindness was to donate his organs to seven recipients whose lives will be better by the grace of our God.

Jason was baptized at 14 years of age at The Christ Church of the Apostolic Faith. He was witnessed to by his friend and Sunday School teacher the late Deacon Sessley.

Jason attended Westerville Schools and graduated from Westerville North High School in 1998. Ja played football, basketball, and ran track. His track record was undefeated, 100-yard dash 10.93 seconds. Track earned him a scholarship to Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

Jason’s grandparents of Youngstown, Ohio and Richmond, Indiana preceded him in death.

The love for his children and family was his driving force. Jason leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Olivia Rhinehart, Jason Robert Jr., Isabella Elaine, Jasyanna Renee and Nadia Monae Aikens. His parents, Siblings Cynthia (Daniel) Stearns of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Eugene Layne, Rochelle Aikens, and Ge’nna Stewart all of Columbus, Ohio. Uncles and Aunts Robert Lee (Edna) Payne of Pickerington Ohio, Nora Ann (Clayborne Lee) Agnew of Richmond, Indiana and a host of many cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
