Jason Paul Thorp, 51, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on July 9, 2022 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 29, 1970 in Clarksburg. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Kenneth Thorp and Linda (Valentine) Greathouse, his brother David Thorp, his sister Lori (Thorp) Rhoades (husband Michael), his daughter Kaylee Hoffman (husband Robert), his son Creighton Larson Thorp, his nephews Jeffrey Thorp, Daniel Thorp and Benjamin Rhoades, his niece Hannah Rhoades, as well as his aunts, uncle, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his brother and best friend Jeff Thorp and his grandparents Oscar and Ruby Thorp and Harry and Lula Valentine.
Jason was a 1988 graduate of Liberty High School where he was active in the band and Future Farmers of America. Through the years, he was employed by D&W Warehouse in Clarksburg, and while living in North Dakota, he worked for Conlin’s Furniture, Pepsi, and last worked for Braun Trucking as a licensed CDL driver in the oil and gas industry. Jason loved animals and had a fun sense of humor. He enjoyed camping at Big Bear Lake with his Dad, watching movies, fishing, and was handy to fix things for his family when needed. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
