Jason L. Costner, 45, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his Fairmount residence. Jason was born in Marion, Indiana on September 2, 1970 to Jerry Sr. and Barbara (DeVaney) Costner who survive in Fairmount and with whom he had a close bond.
Jason graduated from Madison-Grant High in 1989. After High School, Jason joined the Air Force where he repaired helicopters. He attended New Life Fellowship in Gas City. Jason had a big heart and would help anyone that asked. He loved comedy and enjoyed being around people, doing his best to make them laugh. He enjoyed sitting around the fire pit especially with his Dad and grilling out. Everyone loved his cooking.
Jason also loved to go mushroom hunting and the outdoors, electronics, and putting things together. He liked animals especially dolphins and frogs and had a special bond with a dog Pepe. He enjoyed walking her and of course teasing her. He also had a close bond with a friends cat named Piper.
Piper loved when he would visit and followed him everywhere he went. He loved his daughters dog Achilles. As a child, Jason was a KISS fan and loved acting goofy while listening to the Purple People Eater.
Jason will be missed by the many that held a special place in his heart. Surviving along with his parents are his children: Tabatha Ann Costner of Jonesboro. Indiana, Jaycee D. Ann Thorn and Bill James Thorn both of Huntington, Indiana. Sister, Andrea R. (Gary) Lutz of Fairmount and brother Jerry W. (Annette)Costner of Texas, 11 nieces and nephew and 12 great nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law, Linda Jarvis, Jonesboro, IN, his buddy, Branden Behr and very special friend, Bobbi Mullins. Jason was preceded in death by his wife Stacey Costner, stepson Johnny Huston, Paternal grandparents Joe and Virgie Costner and Maternal grandparents Margie Grimes and Virgil DeVaney, and very special dog, Midnight.
