Janine M. Hee

(nee Rullo) On December 21, 2020 of Williamstown. Age 43. Beloved wife of Brian M. Devoted mother of Brendan and Genevieve. Loving daughter of Joseph and Donna (nee Burt) Rullo. Dear sister of Sean and Joseph. Dear daughter-in-law of John and Denise Hee. Dear sister-in-law of Megan Wardwell, John Hee, and Michele Bobbitt. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Janine was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Washington Township, NJ along with her parents and her two older brothers. She graduated from Paul VI High School in 1996 and went on to graduate from West Chester University in 2000. After earning her Bachelor’s degree, Janine began her teaching career; a career in which she would impact the many lives she met throughout her time in the classroom. Janine taught her first year at St. Francis of Asissi School in Vineland, NJ before beginning her career in Deptford Township Public Schools. For a brief three-year period while living in Virginia after marriage, Janine taught at Alexandria City Public Schools before returning to live in NJ and continuing her career in Deptford Township. It was here that Janine settled into her teaching career for 12 years before her medical retirement in 2018 due to her cancer diagnosis.

During her time at Paul VI, Janine found herself a fairy tale love that many go their whole life without finding. Janine and Brian met when they were 16 years old and began dating almost immediately. The football player and the cheerleader, their love story is one that movies are made of with the two of them being voted “Cutest Couple” in their high school yearbook. Not many people can say that they found the love of their life when they were a junior in high school, but Brian and Janine have always been special. While Brian went to college in Washington D.C. and continued his football career, Janine still remained his biggest cheerleader traveling long distances to watch his games and continue building their relationship as they grew up together ready to take on the world. They were married in 2003 and celebrated 17 happily married years this past June.

Throughout her life, the number one thing that Janine was most proud of was her children, Brendan and Genevieve. Janine became a mom in 2007 and she was a natural right away. She provided Brendan and Genevieve with so many magical memories and experiences. Her most loved memories were their trips to Disney World, their summers at the beach, Disney on Ice at Christmas, and waiting for the Amazon delivery truck. Among other things, she served on the board of the PTO at St. Michael the Archangel in Clayton right up until her passing. Janine always wanted the best for her children, and she worked her hardest to provide it for them. Their loss will be great because of the wonderful mother that Janine has always been to them.

When Janine was diagnosed with colon cancer in April of 2018, she didn’t skip a beat before asking what the next steps were and how she was going to beat it. She fought a battle like no one has ever seen before all while keeping her positive and sunny disposition and never once complaining of an ailment. Through her faith and positivity, Janine provided comfort and strength to those around her all while dealing with the effects of this terrible disease. She fought until the very end and never gave up in her efforts to help everyone see the silver lining in life, no matter the circumstances.
