Mrs. Janie S. Davis, age 73, of Newnan, GA passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mrs. Davis was born on December 6, 1946 to the late Sterling Lane Brady and the late Dorothy Jane Sinkler. She was predeceased by her husband, Jefferson B. Davis. Janie grew up in Conway, South Carolina where she attended Conway High School. She also attended Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. Janie moved to Atlanta, Georgia with her family in 1977 and she worked for DeKalb County Police Department for over 15 years in various capacities. She loved her co-workers and her time spent at the police department and she formed many lasting friendships while there. She had an enormous heart and such a strong love for her family. She enjoyed trips to the beach, going to the lake, attending UGA football games, collecting unique antiques and memorabilia for her home, cross-stitching, and taking care of her many beloved cats. She is survived by her children; Robert M. Gray, JR of Yulee, FL, Suzanne Gray Shank of Alpharetta, GA, Dawn Norwood of Summerville, GA, her sister Nancy Knight of Harleyville, SC, her grandchildren Sean Hidden, Sydney Gray, Joseph Shank, and Grayson Shank, and her niece Kim Ponder.
