Janice Lee Marker was born December 8, 1936 to David Woodrow Langford and Beulah (Rouse) Langford in Iowa City, Iowa. She lost her short term battle with Leukemia, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Unity Point Health in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 78 years.

Janice attended her school years in Lucas, Iowa. She was the graduating Class of 1954 Valedictorian at the Lucas High School. On May 7, 1955, she married Doyle Marker and to this union five boys were born: James, Clinton, Dave, Don, and Ron.  Janice’s career was in Data Entry.  She retired from the Deflecta Shield Company in Corydon, Iowa.

In her spare time, Janice would enjoy watching her children and grandchildren’s baseball and softball games. She also attended a few football games of her boys as they were growing up.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents:  David Langford and Beulah (Rouse) Goff; her husband, Doyle Marker; her brother, Ted Goff; and her son, Clinton L. Marker.

She is survived by her children:  James (Linda) Marker of Des Moines, IA, Dave  (Shelly)Marker of Winterset, IA, Don (Laurie) Marker of Indianola, IA, and Ron (Cindy) Marker of Bondurant, IA; her siblings:  Roberta Mark of Des Moines, IA, Jackie Langford of Savannah, MO, Carolyn Clowser of Corydon, IA, and Barb Ewing of Knoxville, IA, Weston Langford and Edgar Langford of Des Moines, IA, and Terry Langford of Humeston, IA; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
