Janice J. Stanley, 87, of Fortville, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Indianapolis. She was born May 4, 1932 in Contra Costa County, California to the late David T. and Opal (Kendall) Cash. Janice was a 1950 graduate of the old Fortville High School, a homemaker and had also worked as an assistant to Dr. Mars Ferrell for several years, retiring in 1985. She had also worked at Fisher-Guide in Anderson.

Janice was a member of the Fortville Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 149. Janice was the Fortville Centennial Queen contest 1st runner-up. She was a great cook and seamstress. Janice also loved traveling around the country with her husband Bob when he was an IndyCar official.

Janice is survived by children: Greg (Clala) Stanley of Fortville; Jana (Allen) McIntosh of Paris, IL; Roger (Nola) Stanley of Freedom, WI and Steve (Deanna) Stanley of Fortville; grandchildren Heather Stout, Derrick (Monika) Stanley, Stephen (Nicole) Stanley, Jon (Leah) Stanley, Peter Cozzi, Jennifer (Phil) Gouin, Joseph ( Terrah) Stanley, Nathan Stanley, Olivia Stanley, Luke (Makayla) Stanley; step grandchildren: James McIntosh, KJ Lee, Yu Jin Lee, Ashley (Mark) Heiberger, Michael Wolter; 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Stanley; sisters: Georgia Cash, Naoma Bolander and brother David Cash.
