Janet M. Lackey, formerly of Copley, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2018 at her residence in Mooresville, NC surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Janet was born on May 29, 1935 to the late Leslie and Ardis (Osborn) Knecht. Janet grew up in Copley and graduated from Copley High School in 1953. She retired from the Copley-Fairlawn School System with 25 years of service.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Harry, daughter Lynda (Brian) Schafer of Troutman, NC, son Mike (Carrie) Lackey of Mooresville, NC and grandson Lane Schafer of Troutman, NC. Janet is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janet was preceded in death by son, Greg and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Betty Knecht.
