Janet Southwick Jacobson
(Gramma Janet)

MORGAN- Janet Southwick Jacobson, age 75, passed suddenly from this life on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

Born July 4 1940, to Ray King Southwick and Ella Margaret Teuscher, in Ogden Utah, Gramma was a “firecracker” in every sense of the word. She loved deeply and unconditionally; listened without judging; encouraged effort and nurtured dreams; always advocating for the “underdog” or what she affectionately called the “orphanary”.
Gram was a collector of sorts; whether it was a “one-of-a-kind” find at a garage sale, a “pretty”, or just another “kid next door”. She was a tinkerer who spent long hours puttering and perfecting her many talents. Gramma was a Jane of all trades and a master of many. Simplistic yet complex; Gramma was truly unique.
Gramma Janet married her “youda me da” Freddie LaMar Jacobson on February 27, 1960. They were blessed with six children: Terry Ray (deceased). Todd Jay (deceased), Jill Jacobson, Ja Nae (Richard) Peterson, Jodi (Shannon) Gunter, and Jason Jacobson. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren of her own, yet MANY more called her Gramma – A title she wore proudly and loudly.
Gram was preceded in death by her parents, infant twin sons, two sisters, and a brother. Like her mother before her, Gram was a very loving, yet strict mother. Her motto was, “Right is right and wrong is wrong.” Her greatest joys were her husband, kids, and grandkids.
