Janet Marie Michalski, 66, of LaSalle, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at St. Margaret’s Health in Peru. Janet was born November 25, 1955, in Peru to Edwin William and Phyllis E. (Armata) Michalski.
Janet graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School and worked for over 25 years at the iconic Jensen Jewelry in LaSalle until they closed. She then worked at Ferretti’s and Illinois Valley Foods in the deli department until her retirement. She also worked for a while at the Illinois Valley YMCA. Janet was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle and at one time served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and proudly served as Regent of the CDA when they celebrated their 100-year anniversary. Janet was a friendly person who enjoyed walking and being with others. She was a great photographer and took many pictures of the places and shrines she had visited with both her family and the CDA.
Survivors include an aunt, several cousins, and friends.
