Janet L. Mueller, age 77, of Salem, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:56 p.m. at the Salem Community Hospital. She was born August 22, 1934 in New Waterford, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herman Y. and Mildred E. (Junker) Bowker. Janet was a 1954 graduate of New Waterford High School and earned a Registered Nursing degree at Hannah Mullins in 1956. In 1956 she began working at the Salem City Hospital. She then worked for her husband, Dr. Eugene A. Mueller as office manager and assistant. In later years she worked at the Hutton’s Nursing Home and the Salem Community Hospital in the Skilled Nursing Unit. She was a member of the Salem Golf Club and a former member of the Salem Quota Club. Her husband of 42 years, Dr. Eugene A. Mueller, preceded her in death on September 28, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Bowker in 1967 and a sister, Elaine Custer in 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Victoria L. (David) Honeywell of Salem; five sons, Michael S. Ward of Salem, Steven B. (Marilyn) Ward of Salem, Eric D. Ward of Salem, Dr. Kurt L. Mueller of Kensington and Grant A. (Lisa) Mueller of Clinton Township, MI; a stepson, Richard C. (Susan) Mueller of Novi, MI; a stepdaughter, Janet L. Mueller-West of Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada; eight grandchildren, Meghan L. Honeywell, Kacie L. Honeywell, Haley M. Ward, Allison E. Ward, Vincent Law, Michelle A. Mueller, Christina M. Mueller and Alex Horner; and a brother, Thomas (Joyce) Bowker of New Waterford.
