Janet Gabriel, age 81, of Salem, died at 1:47 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her home. She was born September 15, 1934 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert and Viola (Patterson) Heinze.
Before her retirement, Janet had been employed as an LPN, at the Salem Community Hospital. She was a graduate of Leetonia High School, and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church.
Her husband, Anthony “Tony” Joseph Gabriel, whom she married June 19, 1959, preceded her in death February 6, 2013. Two brothers, Blaine and John Heinze; and a sister, Margaret Wilkinson also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Gabriel of Charlotte, North Carolina, and James Gabriel of Birmingham, Michigan; two sisters, Annabelle Hufnagle of Leetonia, and Lila Littly of Columbiana; and two grandchildren.
