Janet A. Garner Cecil, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on February 6, 2016. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Jan” to family and friends.
She was born on March 10, 1938 to LeGrande Angell and Harriet Robinson in Salt Lake City. She spent most of her childhood in the Salt Lake area. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico during high school where she met Thomas A. Garner. She moved back to Utah and graduated from Granite High School. Tom and Jan were married in 1956 in Elko, Nevada. Together they had 4 children and made their home in Roy, Utah. The marriage ended after 17 years. She remarried in August 1975 to Herbert M. Cecil who passed away July, 1980.
