Jane Rodgers Mechenbier passed away peacefully surrounded by her children in her home on February 5, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She took pride in being a native New Mexican. Her husband of 58 years, Jerry, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Ron) Williams of Sandy, OR, Mike (Kathy) of Tome, John (Cindy) of Albuquerque, Mark (Catherine) of Amarillo, TX, and Jeff (Cheri) of Albuquerque. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, Bryan, Kristin, Kim, Jessica, Abby, Katie, Emily, Jeremy, Jason, Richelle, Laura, Priscilla, Amber, Jake, Kacie; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sisters and one brother, Dola Clark, Rita Kerr, and Governor Rodgers; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Jane, lovingly referred to as Nana by her grandchildren, was an amazing person who touched many lives through her laughter and love. One of her greatest accomplishments that she left to our family was completing memoirs detailing the Rodgers family history in her book, “Dearest Mae… A Journey of Love and Family.” Jane was a strong woman whose faith was important to her.
