Jane E. McGuinness
Jane E. (Archibald) McGuinness, age 79, of Brookfield, CT passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at home in the arms of her loving family. She was the widow of Donald P. “Mac” McGuinness.
She was born in Greenwich, CT, June 23, 1934, daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine (Waite) Archibald. She graduated from Greenwich High School and was also nominated Ms. Greenwich for her beauty and talent.
Jane worked for various banks, retiring from Connecticut National Bank as Marketing Representative. She started her own business, The Ginger Jar Ceramic Studio and also co-owned D.P. McGuinness, Inc. with her late husband. She enjoyed all aspects of art, from sculpting her own figurines and creating her own paintings.
Jane is survived by her children: Bonnie McCauley, John McGuinness and his wife Nancy, Terry McGuinness, Donald McGuinness, Jr.; foster daughter: Sissy McKee; grandchildren: Brandt, Erin, Matthew and Daniel McCauley, Cara McGuinness-Nunes, John, Hunter, Brandi, Donald III and Shelby McGuinness; great grandchildren: Matthew, Carter, Landon, Kira and Jacob McCauley, Sawyer Wilson and another due in May. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother: Arthur Archibald.
Jane and Mac’s love for each other was an inspiration to all who ever had the privilege to see them together. Jane was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
