Jane Driggers Horah, age 87 of Buford, GA, passed away on December 14, 2020. She was lovingly known as Granny Jane to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Hugh O. Horah Jr., and her infant son Hugh O.Horah lll. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother Rommie and Helen Driggers and Sister, Louise Fail.
Jane was born May 28, 1933, in Daisy, GA.
She grew up in Claxton, and worked in Savannah where she met her husband Hugh. She was a retired sales associate of 30 years with Parson’s Gifts and Collectibles and a faithful member at Buford First United Methodist Church. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the chancel choir for 59 years. Jane loved working in her yard growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed walking and playing tennis with her friends. Jane will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Many years after the death of her husband, Hugh, she was one of the fortunate few that found love again later in life. She and Bob Hellemn enjoyed walking together, spending time with both of their families, and many new adventures together with their shared and very different interests. He introduced her to new foods, Cruises, and even the racing world, and as for proper as she has always been, she would sport her jeans and racing shirt with pride. They traveled near and far, including visiting her sisters hours away often, and mostly enjoyed rocking on the front porch in the sun.
Mrs.Horah is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Donald) Braswell of Danielsville, GA, her son, Mike (Lisa) Horah of Buford, GA.; Six grandchildren, Jason (Allison) Braswell, Dustin (Erin) Braswell, Daniel (Heidi) Braswell of Danielsville, GA.; Keelan (Kerianna) Horah of Nederland, CO., Evan and Eric Horah of Buford, GA. Twelve great-grandchildren, Elaina and Reese Braswell, Olivia, Wyatt and Case Braswell, Noah, Levi, and Adam Braswell; Aubree and Abby Horah; Ryleigh Horah and Braxton Horah. Also, her dear, sweet friend Bob Hellemn of Buford, GA, brother-in-law Bobby Fail of Claxton, GA., and sister, Annette Helmuth of Sylvania, GA.
