Jane Adams Temple, 90, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Friday morning, January 18, 2013 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center, Michigan. Jane was born October 22, 1922 in Hutchinson, Kansas to James Valentine and Letha (Hurst) Adams. She attended Mills College in Oakland, California and earned her Bachelor Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK.

Jane was a nursing home administrator in LaGrange, Illinois. Her love of reading prompted her to open The Book Rack in Sawyer, Michigan, selling and trading new and used books for 20 years. She served her community on the River Valley School Board for 12 years, 6 of them as President. She was a licensed Lay Minister for 12 years and filled in at many local churches while they were waiting for new Pastors to fill their pulpits. She was a member of the Three Oaks United Methodist Church and a member of Chapter DG, P.E.O.

Jane was committed to doing good in her community and church, as well as internationally, through her volunteer work on 13 medical mission trips to Jamaica. She also volunteered for several years as a greeter for people receiving free income tax services in Benton Harbor, MichiganSurvivors include her children, James F. (Geri) Temple II of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Jean Domer of Sawyer and Judith Anne (Joe) Post, Hillsboro, Oregon; grandchildren, Scott M. (Lauren) Domer, David A. Domer and James F. Temple III; and her brother James V. (Jeane) Adams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
