Jan Michno, 88, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Korzeniecki) Michno for 49 years. Although born in Poland, Jan was a longtime resident of New Britain and 35 year retiree of FENN Manufacturing. He was a devout parishioner of Holy Cross Church and a member of General J. Haller Post #111. In the summer months, he could always be found in his garden, meticulously caring for and harvesting his abundant tomato plants. In addition to his wife, Jan is survived by his sons Thomas Michno and Stanley Michno both of Bristol and Raymond Michno of Newington; sister, Maria Szwyd and her husband, Stanley of Housatonic, MA and sister-in-law, Mary Michno of Boise, ID. Jan was predeceased by his brother, Frank Michno. The family would like to sincerely thank the caregivers at Walnut Hill Care Center, especially Lucy Kopach for her kindness and compassion.
