James W Evans, 89, of Anderson, passed away on May 28, 2013, at Saint Vincent’s Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born on February 20, 1924, in Rockwood, Tennessee, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
He served his country in the Army during WWII. He retired from the Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 31 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 F. & A.M. and VFW Post #266. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and camping.
James is survived by his son, Larry Diane Evans of Yorktown, daughter, Jayne Adams of Anderson, sister, Louise Perdue of Anderson, and sister, Ada Newport of Robbins, Tennessee, grandchildren, Mindy Chad McVey, Ashley Andrea Adams, Chris May Evans, great-grandchildren, Rylei McVey, Evan McVey, Anna Adams, Michaela Adams, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Evans, mother, Gladys Evans, and his father, Walter Evans.
