James V. Harp, age 86, of Salem, died at 9:00 p.m. Monday September 8, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born April 1, 1928 in Salem Ohio, son of the late Joseph H. and Miriam (Steiner) Harp. James last worked for Youngstown Rubber Products as a sales representative. He previously worked for Alliance Electric. He was member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 131 in Leetonia. James was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1946. Survived include his wife Betty C, (Suggett) Harp whom he married Aug. 30, 1947; a daughter Amy L. Dean of Salem; a son Timothy J. Harp of Akron; 1 brother Thomas Harp of Salem; 6 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Two brothers Joseph and Paul Harp and one sister Irene (Harp) Forney preceded him in death.
