James Rogers Miller

James Rogers Miller, of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at Gentiva Hospice in Athens, GA at the age of 73. Jim was born in Bennettsville, SC on June 3, 1944, to the late Edward Winston Miller and Lilyon Walker Miller. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Winston Miller II.  He graduated from the Oakridge Military Academy in 1962 and Campbell College in 1966.  He married Frances Moore, his wife of 52 years, on January 23, 1965 and together they raised a daughter.

After a successful career in the textile industry working for J.P.Stevens and Greenwood Mills, he retired from Kaltex America as Regional Sales Manager in 2010. During that time he won many awards and served as President of the Atlanta Textile Club. He always loved his work and made many friends in the industry.

In 1996 he and Frances moved from Lilburn, Georgia to Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA where he had a variety of interests including target shooting and golfing with friends.

In addition to his wife, Frances Miller, he is survived by his daughter, Ginny McManis and her husband  Brent of Greenwood, SC; brother, Charles Alexander Miller of Marietta, SC; two grandchildren, Matthew McManis and John McManis.
