James Dudley, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at St. Mary Corwin Hospital, in Pueblo, CO. He was born Sept. 11, 1944 in Olean, NY to Richard and Mary Dudley. He graduated from Portville Central School in Portville, NY and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. In 1980, Jim graduated from St. James Mercy School of Nursing. He was an emergency room nurse at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, NY, and later became RN night supervisor at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Cheektowaga, NY until his retirement. Jim met his wife, Nancy, when they were both students at colleges in Oneonta, NY. They were married on January 28, 1967. Jim was a man of faith who desired for everyone to know Jesus as their Savior. He was a member of Riverside Assembly of God for 42 years, where he served as board member, elder, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and Royal Ranger Commander. He was sectional Royal Ranger Commander for the New York District Royal Rangers and served as Health and Safety Officer at all the statewide Royal Ranger events. He enjoyed being outdoors and had a passion for teaching camping and survival skills. For several years he taught American Red Cross CPR and First Aid courses, and served as an EMT with the Bolivar Fire Department. Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Dudley; four sons, Rory (Pauleen) Dudley, Reid (Annie) Dudley, Joel (Laura) Dudley, Micah (Jenn) Dudley; special son in love, Dennis (Maxcy); 19 grandchildren, Chelsea, Colin, Justin, Anthony, Bailey, Ashtyn, Aidan, Audrey, Alexis, Ian, Wyatt, Elarah, Ember, Shay, Steven, Michael, Denise, LeAnne, Makayla; sister, Mareea (Chet); nephews, William, Charles; many cousins; as well as many “sons, daughters, and grandchildren”, who were children of his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister, Nancy.
