James R. Richards, 84, of Franklin, IN, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017. He was born to the late Theodore and Tommy Lee (Wright) Richards.
James was a history teacher for Vigo County School Corporation for 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed bird watching, reading, traveling, gardening and painting. James was also a member of the National Audubon Society. James and Sara was host and hostess of the Bellevue Home in LaGrange, Georgia. James was a United States Army veteran.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sara Richards; two sons, Kent (Sheri) and Kevin (Anna) Richards; six grandchildren, Devin Richards, Raygann Richards, Jaime Grimes, Lauren Grimes and Tyler Grimes, Tom Allgine and one great grandchild, Cash Grimes. He was proceeded in death by three brothers, Theodore Jack, Jerry and Joe Richards and sister, Ruth Bush.
