James R. Rich, 78 of Fairmount, Indiana died on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Marion General Hospital.
Born Wednesday, October 14, 1936 he was the son of the late Edward Rich and the late Mary Agnes Kimes Rich. With the exception of the last 4 years, living in Fairmount, Jim spent his entire life on the family farm he was born at in Liberty Township, Indiana. The farm had been in his family for 160 years. He was a 1954 graduate of Fairmount High School where he was active in 4-H and FFA.
He was a truck driver Tri-State Expediting. He was a member of Center Christian Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and was an Elder. Jim enjoyed frequent trips to Village Pantry and loved telling jokes. His last act of kindness was being a tissue donor.
Surviving are brother, David (Joni) Rich of Fairmount, IN, sisters, Marilyn (Jim) Poe of Lafayette, IN and Jane Sickman of Elkhart, IN. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and special friend Carolyn Fox, Fairmount.
He was preceded in death by his sister Donna Druck and brother Phillip Rich.
