James R. Mayer, 56 died unexpectedly at his home on March 26, 2012. “JR”, as he was known to his many close friends and family, was born in Miami Beach and proud of his longtime Miami roots and connection to the community. Survived by his wife Lauren, son Jarred and daughter Erin. Simply, nothing meant more to him than his family. Jim is a graduate of Miami Palmetto Senior High School where he was the “best student ever” and later attended the University of Florida. Like his son Jarred – a freshman at the University of Florida, Jim was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was a doting father to his daughter Erin, affectionately known by him as “Boo”, a junior at Miami Palmetto Senior High School. Jim is also survived by his father and mother, Leonard and Rosemary Mayer of Miami, and his older brother John (Eva ), as well as an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.
