James R. Fahr, III, 48, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born in El Centro, CA, he was the son of James R. Fahr, Jr. of Bangor and Doris (Smith) Bersch of Bethlehem.

He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1987. He also graduated from Cornell University. Jim worked as an Engineer and Designer Programmer for Air Products for 23 years, until retiring. He was a long time survivor of Cystic Fibrosis and was on the board of the local chapter. He was the founder of Steel Horse Charities and a former member of the Goodfellows. Jim was an avid bodybuilder in the 90’s and was voted Mr. Lehigh Valley. He loved motorcycles, classic cars, gun collecting, the New York Yankees, and listening to Bruce Springsteen. Jim had a passion for life and lived his life on his own terms. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

SURVIVORS: In addition to his loving parents, Jim is survived by his paternal grandmother Vivian (Kilpatrick) Fahr of Bangor; his canine companion Dooley; aunts and uncles Carol (Jim) Hobar, Nancy (Keith) Huber, Linda (Joe) Deutsch, Cindy (Joe) Strobel, Ron (Karen) Smith, Ted (Cindy) Smith, Mickey (Barbara) Smith, Mike (Tammy) Smith, William (Ginny) Fahr, Joanne (Thomas) Haney, and John (Jackie) Fahr. He is also survived by many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his uncle, Earl Smith, and cousin, Eric Smith.
