James Porter Carder, age 85, of Clarksburg passed peacefully October 27, 2012 at his home. He was born in Clarksburg son of the late William Arthur and Sarah Alice Jameson Carder. Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Eula “Lou” Louise McClung Carder; adoring son, David P. Carder of Arlington, VA; devoted daughter, Sue Etta Carder of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Holly Sweeney (Jason) of Martinsburg, Erin Carder-McCoy (Kerri) of San Francisco, CA, and Scott Carder of Washington DC; great grandchildren, Sarah Sweeney, Jessica Sweeney, and James Sweeney; brother, Paul Carder; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded by sisters, Mary Eileen Goughnour and Beulah Boyles; and brothers, Clifford Carder and Harold Carder. Mr. Carder was retired from Anchor Hocking where he worked as a supervisor; an honorably discharged WWII veteran of the US Navy; and member of the Church of God. Offices he held in the church were that of treasurer and trustee. He will always be remembered for his humble nature and generous spirit plus devotion to family, church and country.
