James Phillip Byrd, 24, of Figsboro Rd., Martinsville, VA died, Friday, June 11, 2010. Born November 23, 1985 in Lowmoor, VA, Phillip was the son of Cynthia Stinnett Byrd and James Dickie Byrd. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had been employed by VDOT for six years as a Transportation Operator. Phillip was a graduate of Fieldale Collinsville High School in 2004. In addition to his mother of Danville and his father of Martinsville, Phillip is survived by Jennifer Mitchell Byrd of Collinsville; a son, James Alex Byrd of the home; a brother, Josh Steven Byrd of Martinsville; maternal grandparents, James A. Stinnett and the late Shirley A. Stinnett of Martinsville and paternal grandparents, James Nolan Byrd of Martinsville and Joann Hill Byrd of Collinsville.
