Inwood, WV – James Philip “Phil” “Jim” Foltz, 82, of Inwood, WV passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA.

 

He was born on August 31, 1940 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Ernest and Emojean (Shingleton) Moore and Adolph Foltz.

 

Phil was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD.

 

Phil was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served on active duty in the Army from 1960-1963 in Korea. He transferred to Army Reserve and retired from the Air National Guard in 2000 after 39 years of service.

 

He was of the Roman Catholic Faith.

 

Phil was an avid fan of Western Movies and participated in reenactments of cowboy shootouts.  He played in small roles in a few Western Movies. 

 

He volunteered and delivered for Meals On Wheels and also volunteered with Rehoboth United Methodist Church Community Christmas Dinner for several years.

 

He is survived by his daughter Jami McDonald (John); sister Sandra Cunningham; sister Laura Eckard (Bill); sister Barbara Ernde; granddaughter Keirsten Richards (Anthony); granddaughter Tara McDonald; granddaughter Jenna McDonald; great granddaughter Peyton Richards and one more great granddaughter on the way.

 

“Uncle Phil” is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by special friends Craig and Sandra Alexander and Monica Petrella.

 

Besides his parents he was predeceased by four sisters Shelby Moore, Jeanne Edmonds, Ernestine Presgraves, and Carol Morgan.
