James P. D’Arduini, 97, better known as “Hot Dog” passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at F. F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.

James was born Tuesday, July 4, 1922, in Manchester the son of the late Bernard and Mary (Delgatto) D’Arduini. On June 19, 1948, he married Mary Deasio. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was the last remaining WWII veteran in Manchester. After his service, he was the proprietor of the Lehigh Valley Restaurant for five years. He retired in 1984 from the engineering department at the VA Hospital in Canandaigua. James was a member of St. Dominic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Turner Schrader Post 34, and the Manchester Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James will be remembered by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary D’Arduini; children James J. (Diane) D’Arduini, Bernice Goodell, Nancy (Jeff) Pratt, Maria (Brett Gerke) Cole; grandchildren Robert J. D’Arduini, Robert (Carrie) Goodell, Paula (Jeremy) Goodell-Laursen, and Dominic Cole; great-grandchildren Ryan D’Arduini, Andrew Goodell, Emma Goodell, and Reed Laursen; sister, Angie Keating; brother, Bernard (Shirley) D’Arduini; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

James was predeceased by his brothers Phil and Billy D’Arduini; sister, Mary Ciardi; sons-in-law; Robert Goodell and Glen Cole.
