James O. ”Jim” Vibbert, 84, Anderson, died August 14, 2005 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness.
He was born August 3, 1921 in Burkesville, Kentucky, and was a resident of this area since moving here on September 9, 1950. He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in 1978. He was a member of the UAW Local #663.
He is survived by his wife whom he married October 4, 1941 in Columbia, Kentucky, Sally Brummett Vibbert; a son, Harold & wife Barbara Vibbert of Pendleton; a daughter, Bonnie Vibbert of Anderson, South Carolina;six grandchildren, Teresa Blair of Anderson, Rene Pennock of Clemson, South Carolina, Kelly & husband David Kirchner of Anderson, James Harold Vibbert II & wife Nikki of Lapel, Michael & wife Randi Jean Hobbs and Randall Hobbs both of Anderson, South Carolina;a brother, Jesse K. Vibbert of Anderson; two sisters, Elsie M. Petty of New Albany, Indiana and Iretis Vibbert of Burkesville, Kentucky; thirteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Ben & Annie Branham Vibbert; three sisters; one brother; and one great granddaughter.
