James Lee Mitchell, 55, of Solsberry, died on Monday at Bloomington Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Jim was born March 9, 1954, in Vandalia, Illinois and was the son of Billy Warren and Annabelle Elaine (Wiss) Mitchell.
He worked for more than 20 years at Ken’s Westside Shell and was currently employed as the technician assistant service manager at J.D. Byrider. Survivors include his wife Carol (Nagel) Mitchell of Solsberry, one daughter LeeAnna Graham of Bloomington, two step-sons Craig Bennett of Paragon, IN and Derick Bennett of Bloomington.
He is also survived by two brothers Larry Mitchell of Maroa, IL and Steve Mitchell of Ivesdale, IL and eight grandchildren, Tyson Bennett, Cole Bennett, Adam Graham, Miranda Graham, Kenny Graham, Alexi Bennett, Dakota Bennett and Parker Bennett. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his son Wes Mitchell in 1994.
