James Michael Higgins, 49, of Middletown, beloved husband of Paula (Fox) Higgins, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 1st at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of Paula (Walters) Higgins of Battle Creek, MI and the late James W. Higgins. Jim graduated from The Ohio State University, Class of 1989 and remained an avid Ohio State Buckeye sports fan. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aerospace Company for sixteen years and was a member of the Parent’s Association for the U.S. Air Force Academy. Jim was very dedicated and devoted to his whole family and a very loving person who would do anything for anyone. He loved to travel on vacation especially to Disney. Jim loved his food and his little red sporty Miata. Along with his wife and mother, Jim is survived by two sons, Nathan T. Higgins of Coco, FL and Jordan A. Higgins of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter, Alexandra E. Higgins of Middletown; brother, Scott A. Higgins and his fiancé, Cassandra Prastine of Milford, OH; sister, Jennifer L. Giannone and her husband, Robert of Milford, MI; mother and father-in-law, Pamela and Paul Fox of Middletown; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Kiaffas and her husband, Andrew of Middletown and Cynthia Starr and her husband, Eddie of Kansas City, MO and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Kimberly (Joyner) Higgins.
