Mr. James McAllister
, 80, passed away on Wednesday April 13, 2011 in the Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, NJ.

James was born in Scotland and immigrated to this country in 1969. He lived in Kearny for 30 years before moving to Whiting 10 years ago.

While in Scotland he served in the Elite Scottish Regiment, the Black Watch and was a decorated Korean War Veteran.

Here in the states, he was employed as a mason for Newark Beth-Israel Medical Center in Newark for 30 years. He retired 10 years ago.

Mr. McAllister was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 68, AFL-CIO. He was a member of the Kearny Irish American Association and a devoted member of the Glasgow Celtic Supporters.

James is survived by his daughter Ann Handlin and her husband James of Lake Hopatcong. He was the brother of Elizabeth Royle, Charlotte Samson and Alex McAllister all of Scotland He was the grandfather of Natalie, Jamie and Charlotte Handlin. James leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son James McAllister, Jr. and his wife Mary (Duncan).

His beloved dog Duncan will miss him very much.
