James M. Dalton, 87, Anderson, died April 6, 2012 at Rawlins House, Pendleton after an extended illness. He was born October 9, 1924 in Mitchell, IN, and was a 1942 graduate of Anderson High School.
James worked for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 40 plus years, where he was chief over product engineering, retiring in 1984. His wife and family meant everything to him.
He enjoyed being with his family, traveling and eating out. We all loved him and he will be greatly missed; our memories will keep us going.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Jane Karr Dalton; three children, Cynthia A. Abel-Asher Larry of Markleville, Michael J. Dalton Minda of Canada & John D. Dalton Annette of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Allison Tyler Davis, Shelby, Katy, Kessler Dalton, Rayvn, Brandi, Dawson, and Jesse Lyding, Jennifer Kile Evans, Ashley Hume, Jana and Lyndsay Dalton; three great grandchildren, Carlee, Christian, and Brennah and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew D. & Mattie Pemberton Dalton, and a sister, Mary Ellen Dalton Wihebrink.
