James E. Leffler formerly of Burlington passed away in Moorestown on Saturday at the age of 84. He was a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md. He served his country honorably in US Army during World War II. He was a self-employed businessman who was a founding father of the American Legion in Emmitsburg. He also belonged to the V.F.W, American Legion and Knights of Columbus all in Willingboro, NJ. An avid Phillies and Eagles fan he will be most remembered for his love of all types of music and his love for his family.

Husband of 56 years to the late Helene (nee:Manley) he is survived by their children; Joanne (Ed) Uva, Dorothy (Fred) Dare, Patti (Ed) Eckert, Jr., grandchildren Lauren (Michael) McGarrigle, Diane (Joe) Schwantes, Dan (Lisa) Schoen, Jr., Adrienne (Jim) Ragan, Ed (Katie) Eckert, III, Jim (Mary) Eckert, Allison (Ryan) Murphy, great-grandchildren Michael, Jr., & Colin McGarrigle, Ryan, Evan, Aidan Schwantes, Patrick & Emily Ragan, Jake Eckert, a brother Lt. Col. John J. Leffler, a sister Dorothy (Ed) McCarron as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Corpus Christi R.C. Church, Charleston Rd, Willingboro on Thursday.
