Captain James L Harper (42) passed away Saturday August 27, 2022. Born in New Port News, Virginia on January 24, 1980, to Jimmy and Mary Harper. Upon graduation from Mid-Carolina High School in Prosperity SC he enlisted into the United States Air Force, serving with the 1st Combat Camera Squadron in Charleston SC. As a Combat Cameraman his imagery was used in print media Web sites and broadcast media throughout the World. He served his country through multiple deployments to, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, and Bosnia. He also deployed on humanitarian missions including, Haiti, Sumatra, and New Orleans.
He is survived by, his three, children Callie Grace, Kinsley Hope and Hudson James Harper. His parents Jimmy and Mary Harper, his sister Candace Harper, his nieces and nephew Audrey Harper, Sara Elizabeth, Addison Olivia, and Noah Douglas. He also leaves behind his best friend and partner Maria Steelman and her son Avery.
