My Creed- Author Unknown
I’m just an ordinary man with ordinary ways
I do not fear the critic’s ban, or seek the flatterer’s praise
But as I walk life’s busy way, I do the best I can
To meet life’s problems day by day and prove myself a man
I know my faults are many, my virtues are but few
Excuses, I haven’t any- I’m human just like you.
But in my human erring way, I work and think and plan
Each Day to Live, some aid to give- help my fellow man
The world will never call me great
For fame I have no desire
I may not leave a great estate
for people to admire
But when I’ve gone the silent way
And life’s brief days shall end
I hope all whom I’ve known can say,
“I’m glad he was my friend”
if I can do a kindly deed to lighten someone’s load
If I can be a friend to those in need along life’s weary road
If I can help a brother see the sunshine through the rain
Though I may die in poverty,
I have not lived in vain.
Goodbye, our son, father, brother and friend.
May you rest in the Lord’s arms
Safe from earthly harm
And dwell in the House of the Lord
Until we meet you again.
