March 26, 1935 – April 20, 2021
James L. Flohr, age 86, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was born March 26, 1935 in Oglesby, Illinois to Robert and Edith Flohr.
Jim was an only child and grew up to proudly serve in the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged after many years of faithful service to his country. He would later become a professional bookkeeper and would retire from Labar Farms.
Jim was an avid fan and supporter of girls’ sports, including the basketball, volleyball, and softball programs for the Harlingen Lady Cardinals and Harlingen South Lady Hawks. He volunteered more than 20 years for the graduation celebration parties for both high schools. Jim joined the Citizens Police Academy in 2007. He trained with the Harlingen Police Dept and Harlingen Fire Dept. where he became a member of the Community Response Team. Jim added to his training with the U.S. Border Patrol and was an active volunteer at the Harlingen VA Outpatient Clinic for approximately 10 years.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory, his loving wife of 41 happily married years, Aurora A. Flohr.
