DOOLITTLE, James “Jim” of Kalamazoo. Jim Doolittle, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2010 with his family by his side. His beloved wife, Mimi, waited to welcome him to Heaven with open arms. Jim was born July 13, 1933, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Margaret Evans.

He was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving as a Chaplain’s Assistant. Jim also attended Western Michigan University, studying engineering. Upon completion of his studies, Jim owned and operated United Mechanical Services for many years before retirement. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mimi; and sister Arlene Wheeler. Jim is survived by his children, Terry Kay Doolittle, Lawton; Deborah Steve Sangalli, Park City, Utah; Carol Doolittle, Vicksburg; and Rod Thu Doolittle, Dallas, Texas. Jim is also survived by his siblings: Gerry Marilyn Doolittle, Ohio; Ron Rita Doolittle, Florida; and Jane Meadows, Michigan. Jim also leaves 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jim always had a quick wit, good story and idea in his head. He was very strong in his Faith and read his Bible daily. He also enjoyed time with his family and friends. Jim was an inventor and spent many hours working on his inventions and researching same.
