Brimfield-James Joseph Dunn, 85, of Brimfield passed away February 17, 2021, at the Southbridge Rehab Center. Jim was the son of the late James and Greta Dunn. He was raised in Springfield and was a graduate of Trade High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Naval Reserve. He retired in 1988 after 23 years as a Springfield firefighter. He was recognized several times for his heroism as a firefighter, including the removal of an oil tanker truck from a burning fire on “gasoline alley”.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Margaret and Irene. He was also predeceased by his youngest son, Marty, who passed away from ALS. He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Sheila Dunn (O’Connor), his son, James Dunn and wife Brenda of Monson, his daughters Sheila Mahoney and husband Paul of Monson and Laura Poole and husband Tom of Ware, along with 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
